We're Getting Married!

Derrick and Kelsey were first introduced by a good friend while she was visiting Fort Worth for a weekend to decide if she wanted to make the move after graduation. In August 2014, Kelsey moved to Fort Worth and became good friends with Derrick. Over the next year, their friendship grew into something more and in January 2016 after a weekend getaway, they decided they were ready to take the next step.

On Kelsey's 28th birthday, Derrick surprised her with tickets to a Penn State Football game in October. Kelsey was ecstatic to finally show Derrick her alma mater (times two) and planned a weekend full of Penn State's best (the Creamery, Cafe, Tailgaiting, etc.) Little did Kelsey know, Derrick was busy making other plans to pull off the perfect proposal in one of Kelsey's favorite places. On the evening of October 12th, on their way to meet friends at Cafe 210, Derrick took Kelsey by the hand and said we'd meet up with everyone else later. Kelsey caught on quickly, and struggled to catch her breath as Derrick lead her through campus to the Gazebo at the alumni center. Here, Derrick got on one knee and popped the question. After Kelsey said yes, he turned her to show her the photographer who he hired to capture the moment. After going around campus taking pictures, Kelsey and Derrick finally went to meet up with their friends, but Kelsey was once again surprised to see that both of their families had traveled to celebrate with them!
