Kristin has been best friends with Katherine for over 10 years! They went to USC together and would get together often to talk about classes that they were taking and teaching. They like to spend time playing games, watching cooking television, and going to concerts. Kristin is a friend who Katherine knows she can always rely on to offer her knowledge and a glass of wine.
Thomas Finigan, Jr
Best Man
Thomas met Derrick at USC when Derrick was at his first marching band camp. The two quickly became friends, and soon brothers in Phi Mu Alpha. Thomas and Derrick bonded over music, food, sports, and pretty much anything, and would always bring Derrick his favorite drinks in exchange for a place to crash whenever he came to visit. To this day, Thomas is one of Derrick’s best friends and biggest support systems.

Kamyla and Katherine met back in middle school band and played flute together through high school. They were inseparable in high school, you couldn't find one without the other! They lived together in college and would spend countless nights up late talking, watching a movie, or painting. They love making music together, playing games, cooking and baking, and watching bad drama television.
Rayvon "Nate" Hammonds

Nate is one of Derrick’s first and best friends at USC, as they were in the same dorm. Now, they’re inseparable. Nate was always down to go on a “Beezer’s Run” at 2 am and served more as Derrick’s babysitter than anything. All throughout college, Nate and Derrick would have countless new adventures together, and laugh and make memories while exploring their young adulthood.
Brenna Vaz

Brenna is Derrick's sister, but also the sister that Katherine never had. Brenna is a kind, supportive sister-in-law, and all throughout their relationship, Brenna has been a shoulder to lean on, a support system to Katherine, and "one of the gals!"
David Feeley

Dave was also one of Derrick’s first friends at USC. The two met in Swing Shift jazz band during Derrick’s first semester, and after inviting him to rush Phi Mu Alpha, Dave became Derrick’s big brother and mentor. For years, the two went on to develop a special bond, with Dave truly being the big brother that Derrick never had. They also lived together and shared many special memories of home cooked meals, video game tournaments, and games of “is it gunshots or fireworks?”

Elizabeth "Liz" met Katherine at USC in the bassoon studio. As the only two bassoonist education majors, they grew close over the years and share a love for animals, cooking, baking, and drama TV. When they graduated and both became elementary music teachers, they would often get together to vent and share over margaritas.

Christie and Derrick go way back, and by that, I mean that they’ve been friends for 18 years, or 75% of each other’s lives. They’ve had each other’s backs for as long as they can remember. They’ve been there for each other during each of life’s every obstacle. Through elementary, middle, high school, and beyond, their friendship and love of music has been the glue that holds them together to this day!

Sydney met Katherine at USC in the bassoon studio. They played together and bonded over reedmaking, cinnamon rolls, and a love of animals. Sydney is hard working and always there to lend a helping hand, like being the designated page turner for Katherine's performances! She is now studying to become a veterinarian at Cornell. Me-YOW!
Brian Murphy

Brian met Derrick when he was getting ready for the first day of marching band camp at USC. When Derrick saw Brian at the hotel the morning of, holding a saxophone case, he knew he was a fellow band member and offered to have breakfast with him. Brian and Derrick went on to be the best of friends throughout college, and even lived together one year. After countless late-night adventures and trips to Hilton Head Island, the two are brothers for life!

Katherine met Victoria in the bassoon studio at USC, and ever since the first day, they knew they were a great match! They've bonded over studio insanity and their love of live jazz music for years, and recently they played and traveled together with the Appalachia Wind Symphony.
Raymond Lee

Raymond is Derrick’s younger cousin that’s more like a brother than anything. Being some of the youngest of all the cousins, Raymond and Derrick bonded over their closeness in age and also plethora of shared interests while growing up. Today, Raymond and Derrick still have adventures and make new memories, and even though the two live very far from one another, they still make time to go see each other and make even more memories.
