we're getting married!

We met when we were just 14 years old, back when life was simple and the future felt far away. We didn’t know it then, but God was already writing a story far bigger than we could imagine. That same day we first crossed paths, Hannah had woken Derrick up in science class when the bell rang and he was still sound asleep. Later that night, Derrick sent Hannah a message on Instagram that simply said, “Do you remember me?” How could she not? That small, ordinary moment became the beginning of a love that would grow and deepen over the years. Over the past eight years, we’ve grown up together in every sense of the word. We’ve navigated school, big dreams, changing seasons, and the challenges that come with becoming adults, always learning, always growing, and always choosing each other. Through every high and low, God has remained at the center of our relationship. Our faith has been our foundation, teaching us to love with patience, grace, and humility, and reminding us that true love is built, not rushed. We’ve learned firsthand that love is patient and love is kind. It listens, forgives, and shows up even on the hard days. We’ve learned how to communicate, how to support one another’s dreams, and how to grow stronger together instead of apart. We didn’t just fall in love, we grew into it, step by step, year by year. Today, we look back with so much gratitude for the journey that brought us here. We love deeply, we love wholeheartedly, and we love with intention. What started as a simple message and a moment in a science classroom has become a lifelong commitment rooted in faith, friendship, and unwavering love. As we step into marriage, we do so thankful for the past, excited for the future, and confident that with God at the center, our love will continue to grow in ways even our 14-year-old selves could never have imagined. 💛
