We're Getting Married!

Derrick and Donita are from the same hometown, Edenton, North Carolina, however, they had never met or spoken to one another (due to their age difference and hanging in different circles). Donita knew of Derrick from being on the high school basketball team and she noticed that he was a really good player. Basketball is Donita's favorite sport, therefore, she has an eye for good players. Fast forward 20+ years... One day in 2015, Donita was scrolling through Facebook and came across the "People You May Know" section. She saw a picture of Derrick Felton and her initial reaction was, "Oh he's still cute." She checked out his page and then sent him a friend request. To her surprise he accepted. Approximately, 4 days later, Derricked inboxed Donita: Derrick: Hey Nita, just curious...how do we know each other? Lol I'm just trying to figure it out. Donita: Hi Derrick. My name is Donita Privott. I'm from Edenton. I don't think that we've ever met, however, I know of you through your sister. If I remember correctly, you used to be good at basketball. Derrick: Oh, ok cool. Used to be...what are you trying to say? Lol Donita: Lol I haven't seen you play in years. In one of your latest videos you seemed to still have it! Derrick: You're funny! Yeah, I can still do a lil sum sum... They exchanged a few more messages to get to know each other better and found that they had several things in common: both were UNC-CH Tarheel fans, enjoyed working out, and both were entrepreneurs. A few days later Derrick (who lived in Maryland at the time) took a trip to Chapel Hill, North Carolina to attend a UNC-CH football game. He messaged Donita and let her know that he was in North Carolina and asked to meet her. They had their first date on October 24, 2015 and hung out the entire weekend in Durham and Chapel Hill. The weekend activities ended and Derrick went back to Maryland. Though they were 4.5 hours apart, they were inseparable and talked everyday since that day.

Derrick knew that after meeting Donita that he was going to marry her. After having a 3-year long-distance relationship, Derrick relocated from Maryland to North Carolina. One week later, he proposed to Donita at the restaurant where they had their first date. He asked and Donita (surprised) said, "Yes!"
