We’re getting hitched!

In 2021, Derrick and Courtney met through Derrick’s brother TJ. Courtney was out one night with friends and one of the girls was dating TJ. TJ had mentioned he had an older brother that was single and asked if Courtney would be interested. Courtney said “sure” not thinking anything would come of it. TJ gave Derrick Courtney’s phone number and he reached out to her later that evening. The conversation flowed and they finally went on their first date a week later at the Tap and Handle in Fort Collins for a beer and some food. Courtney and Derrick hit it off after the first date and the rest was history! On December 24, 2023, Courtney drove to Walden (Derrick’s hometown) to spend Christmas Eve with him and his family. Derrick’s mother, Michelle, wanted the family to drive around the town and look at Christmas lights (Courtney’s favorite). Courtney and Derrick wanted to get out of the car and walk around the small display the city set up on the Main Street. While Courtney and Derrick were walking through the lights, Michelle asked the two of them to pose for a picture. In the midst of the photo pose, Derrick got down on one knee, pulled out a ring and asked Courtney to marry him. Courtney, shocked and in tears, of course said yes!!!
