FAQs

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Your kiddos are sweet and adorable, but this party is 21+.

Question

Can I bring a date/friend?

Answer

Our venue has a smaller capacity than most and we have invited the maximum number of guests allowed, so unfortunately, we are unable to house guests other than those explicitly named on your invitation.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

You are welcome to arrive at the Sailing Center as early as 3:45 p.m. - the bar will be open! Please arrive no later than 4:20 p.m. in order to give you time to find your seat. We will begin promptly at 4:30 p.m., and any latecomers will be asked to wait in the hallway until the ceremony is finished.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Cocktail Attire: Polished and dressy - time to break out your favorite tie or that sparkly dress you've been wanting a reason to wear!

Question

What's the bar situation?

Answer

We want you to come ready to party! In addition to non-alcoholic beverages, our hosted bar will feature three beers, one cider, two red wines, two white wines, and Wisconsin's legendary Old Fashioneds (brandy, whiskey, or Southern Comfort). A cash bar will be available for other cocktails.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, there is free parking onsite at our venue. Please review the Travel page for further details.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the venue?

Answer

Yes, we will provide a shuttle to and from the Westin for both the ceremony and reception. Please plan to grab an Uber or Lyft to the ceremony if not taking the shuttle or driving yourself. Please review the Travel page for further details.

Question

Is there a wedding hashtag?

Answer

Yes! Feel free to use #TheMainCarrickters on your posts.

Question

Can I take pictures?

Answer

We have paid for a professional photographer to capture how the ceremony looks - and we have invited you so you may capture how the ceremony feels. Our ceremony will be "unplugged" - we politely insist that you put away your cell phones and other cameras/electronics to ensure you are in the moment and not in the way of our photographer. After the ceremony is complete and the wedding party has exited, you may bring out your devices and take pictures of whatever and whoever you wish! Once we receive our photos back from our photographers, we would be happy to send some to you.

Question

Is the venue handicap accessible?

Answer

Yes - the Sailing Center has a ground-level entrance and an elevator onsite.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

While difficult to know for sure, historically October 19th's average forecast is a high of 57° F and a low of 48° F, with clear skies. All wedding events will take place indoors, though you are welcome to enjoy a cocktail on the deck or lawn if desired.

Question

What do I do if something changes and I can / can't make it after I've already RSVP'd?

Answer

We understand life happens and things come up! Please email us at themaincarrickters@gmail.com with any changes.
