FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by July 31st so we can finalize our guest count and seating arrangements. We appreciate you letting us know as soon as possible!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before the ceremony to allow time for parking and seating. The ceremony will take place at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Poway, which is a different location from the reception venue.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes! We kindly ask guests to wear formal attire. Suits or tuxedos for men and long dresses or formal gowns for women are encouraged. We can’t wait to celebrate with everyone dressed up! We kindly ask that all guests avoid wearing white.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There will be parking available at both the church as well as the reception location.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We’ve listed two nearby hotel options on the Travel section of our website for guests who would like to stay close to the celebration. A room block will be available for The Rancho Bernardo Inn, where we will be staying. Please feel free to book whichever option works best for you.

Question

What is the “Catholic gap”?

Answer

Our ceremony will conclude around 3:00 PM, while cocktail hour at the reception venue will begin at 5:00 PM. This break in between is sometimes called the “Catholic gap.” Guests are welcome to relax, grab a drink, or explore the area before heading to the reception. The drive from the church to the reception venue is about 30 minutes, and if you arrive early there will be a water station available while you wait for cocktail hour to begin.

Question

Are the ceremony and reception at the same location?

Answer

No. The ceremony will take place at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Poway, and the reception will be held at a separate venue, The Secret Garden, about 30 minutes away.
