Yes. At least that's the plan! There is an indoor option if the weather doesn't cooperate. There is a dirt path down to the ceremony site, so be careful with footwear choices!
If you're staying on the island, no. We understand this means you'll probably be renting a car purely to get to and from the airport, so if you're interested in carpooling please let us know and we'll try and help coordinate.
Yes and no. It's a summer camp, so it's pretty rustic and does not provide the same amenities that a hotel does. We will provide some hair dryers and irons and a slew of other "oh crap, I forgot my toothbrush!" items, so hopefully, we'll have you covered! This means you might have to share (hairdryers, not toothbrushes), so please plan accordingly.
For those staying on the island Friday night, brunch will be provided on Saturday. And since everyone knows how much we love Costco, there will be snacks in giant quantities spread around as well. Feel free to bring your own food, but please be mindful that available fridge space will be limited. Coffee will be included with the brunch, but the island does have a small cafe that can make fancier coffee beverages (they accept cash or credit).
The options available to guests are the cabins and a loft area that has horse-stall-like rooms with curtains for doors. Assume bunk beds, but there are some fulls and queens spread around and the ability to shift beds around. The lodge is reserved for the wedding party and a few family members. While the camp can easily hold everyone in attendance, there is not enough space for everyone to have a private cabin. For this reason, we will be assigning lodging. We will group you with people you know, but might potentially throw in a few people we think you'll love depending on numbers! If you're looking for privacy, we recommend either camping or choosing one of the other lodging options listed. We don't want to scare you off! We would love it it everyone chose to stay on the island and absolutely think it is the best lodging option, we just want to make sure to set expectations appropriately.
Yes! Tent camping is definitely an option. You would have access to the same restroom/shower facilities as those staying in the loft/cabins. The cost to camp is $10/person/night (includes your meals). Bring your own gear!
Honestly, it could go either way. It could be 80 degrees and sunny, or it could be in the 50's. We're 99% sure it won't snow ;) It will most likely be in the low 50's or 40's at night, no matter how warm it is during the day. Check the weather ahead of time and pack a sweater just in case. Kelly's parents actually have a wunderground weather station at their cabin, check it: https://www.wunderground.com/forecast/pws%3AKMNDEERW8?cm_ven=localwx_10day
The cost is $20/person/night ($10 if camping). This includes lodging and non-reception meals. You can pay when you check-in (cash, check, or credit).
We've included the island lodging as part of the online RSVP. You can update your RSVP at any time if you aren't sure yet. Just let us know how many nights you're staying, and please finalize your decision by August 25th! When you arrive at the island, you'll be directed to check-in to get your room assignments. Please let us know if you have any questions about staying on the island! We will send an email out to everyone staying on the island with additional details the week before the wedding.
If you're staying in a cabin or the loft, you'll share a bathroom that has several stalls and several private showers. The bathroom is located roughly equal distance from the loft and the cabins. The facilities are very clean and towels will be provided! We will stock the bathrooms with some shampoo/conditioner/soap to share. Bring shower flip-flops! There are also a few outhouses around the island if you're feeling outdoorsy!
We love your kids—we really do. But we want our wedding to be your night off! This will be an adults-only weekend.
