On January 5, 2025, Derek turned a perfect Mexico morning into one we’ll never forget. With a little help from our friend Garrett (who secretly traveled with the ring just in case TSA tried to ruin the surprise), Derek planned the sweetest beach proposal. Our friends happened to be walking the shoreline at the same time - totally normal for them - and the sunrise turned out to be the most beautiful of the entire trip. While we walked along the ocean looking for shells, Derek pointed out a “shell” and told me to pick it up. When I turned around, he was down on one knee. Between the ocean, the sunrise, and our favorite people nearby, it was perfect and the easiest yes ever ♡
