We’re getting married!

Our story began at a over-crowded house party on a brisk autumn night. My sister and brother-in-law begged me to come over for drinks and to watch UFC fights with friends. Kim continued to persuade me “I have this cute guy that you NEED to meet, plus free drinks!!” I agreed to come out for a few hours, just to get her off my back. We were awkwardly introduced to eachother over beers and loud talking. Fast forward to our first date at Sam’s pizza on October 18, 2013. From that date on we just clicked. We spent nearly every day together, or talking on the phone. I didnt realize it then, but we were definitely that annoying cute couple. We moved in together in 2015, after constant commuting from Ottawa to Peru. Derek encouraged my academic and career goals throughout my time in my undergraduate and graduate programs, he was my rock through it all. We have learned so much from our story, and continue to learn and grow as individuals and as a life partners. We are excited to begin this new chapter together, as a married couple. - N & D
