Once upon a time nestled between the gentle lapping of the ocean tides and the majesty of mist filled redwoods an old road crumbled beneath the feet of a blonde haired girl and a curious boy. Melissa had come to the old haul road to jog with her pup and breath the fresh salty air near the same fishing spot that Derek had brought his dog to fish at. Each of them glanced in each others direction not realizing they had just laid eyes on the person who would become their best friend in the entire world.  Derek and Melissa had grown up in neighboring towns amongst the ocean breeze and redwood trees. They frequented many of the same places and even had some of the same friends, but had never met until that day on the old haul road doing what they loved with only their loyal pups for companions.  Several days passed before the curious boy was able to build the courage to ask the blonde haired girl to accompany him for a stroll on the beach. Derek brought hand picked flowers and coffee and Melissa was charmed and impressed. The inspiration of their instant connection led to a fast paced, magic carpet ride of love.
