The Proposal Trip & Photos

Day 1 - Headed to Scotland! Heather spent half of her birthday on the smallest plane in the world. Derek is getting nervous about the proposal, but happy the ring wasn't flagged at airport security.

Day 1 - It does rain a bit in Scotland but who cares with all the things to see! Derek takes it easy, knowing that he won't be popping the question for another few days. Heather doesn't know at all.

Day 2 - This is what is called a trail in Scotland... don't see one? Yeah, neither did we but we climbed all the way to the top of Arthur's Seat!

Day 3 - Glasgow, the city of art in Scotland. Derek is more nervous because the next trip is to the isle where he plans to propose. Heather, of course, still has no idea.

Day 4 - Train ride to Isle of Skye. Derek is getting real antsy with carrying the ring around. Heather is clueless.

Day 4 - Glenfinnan Viaduct. Seeeee the Harry Potter scene!

Day 4- After a train, boat, & cab, we arrive at Portee on Skye. Old Man of Storr is that rocky terrain in the distance. We climb that the next day. Yes, on another gloriously made Scotland trail :)

Day 5 - Scorrybreac Walkway. The beginning of the path that leads to where he proposes. Derek is getting sweaty with nervous anxiety. Heather is gabbing away as usual, not knowing what is going on.

The beautiful proposal spot. Heather- "I love you D-Dawg." Derek- "Forever?" Heather (still clueless as to what is going on)- "Uh duh." Derek- "Well, I want to keep you forever. Will you marry me?"

Derek picked out the ring last fall and Heather really had no idea. He waited 7 months & checked the ring twice to make sure it was what she would like. And... Heather freaking loves it.

Derek is relieved that he doesn't have to worry about her finding the ring in his pocket anymore. Heather now feels like it's time for some scotch... or wine or champagne because scotch is gross.
