It all started four years ago when Francheska moved from her hometown of Pittsburgh, PA to Charlotte, NC. After being invited to a brewery with an old friend, Francheska was surprised to see the biggest dog she's every laid eyes on across the crowded restaurant. Of course she just HAD to pet him. His owner was pretty cute too ;) A true tale of modern times, Derek soon slid into Francheska's DM's to ask if she wanted to join him at the dog park with her pup too. Dog park dates quickly turned into dinner dates, which turned into meeting each others families, vacations together, anniversaries, and more. In February of 2024 Derek, Francheska, Hanx and Milo all moved into their first home together. In January of 2025, they had a trip planned to visit Francheska's family in Jupiter, FL. After almost crashing in their disco uber, they arrived at the scenic sunset dinner that was supposed to be a "birthday party for her mom". (Sorry Jody). Derek pulled Francheska aside (who was dressed in her best outfit because she ~had an inkling~) and proposed to her in front of the Jupiter Lighthouse surrounded by both of their families. It was the most special trip having everyone together. Now, Derek and Francheska are planning their future together and excited to officially tie the knot! We hope you will be able to join them in Pittsburgh on August 1, 2026!
