We originally met in high school and were good friends. In 2009, we reconnected via FaceBook. We were supportive of each other during very pivotal moments in our lives. We became Best Friends and then Lovers.

Derek proposed while we were away in Fort Lauderdale, celebrating my birthday and recent graduation from graduate school. Derek never does anything straight forward. While waiting for Derek on the terrace of our hotel room before going out to dinner, Derek gave me my birthday card. The card was titled "For My Beautiful Soon to Be Wife" and signed Your Fiance. When I turned around (with tears in my eyes of course) Derek had Teddy Pedergrass' You're My Latest, My Greatest Inspiration playing and was down on one knee holding a beautiful box with a gorgeous engagement ring.....
