We can’t wait to celebrate with all of you. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are asking that all of our guests over the age of 2 honor and protect each other’s health and safety by wearing a mask to our wedding and practicing social distancing as much as possible. Thanks friends!
We actually met about 4 years ago when we were both in a worship band for a monthly young adults worship night called “Upper Room”. Derek was super quiet, and I though he was a little weird because he never talked to me. Apparently he thought I was “super cute” though. Long story short, I moved away to Chattanooga a few months later, and we lost touch. I went through a long, but beautful season full of growing pains and restoration. Then, two years later, I found myself back in Rome, and the Lord led me to a new home at Renovation Church. I found a sweet family there, and the Father contiued to heal my heart and keep his promises, just like He always does. Derek was an unexpexted promise for me to say the least, but I’ll let him tell the rest. -Liz I’d been attending Renovation for about a year at the time and I started to notice a familiar face in the crowd from several years ago. I was surprised to see her because I thought she was making her life in Chattanooga. Well of course I was a little hesitant at first, maybe just waiting for the best opportunity to get back in touch with her. So, at a fellowship night for the worship team Mike Jr. announced that Lizzy was single but not ready to mingle, and that was crushing to say least, but I knew that I would have an opportunity eventually. So lets cut to the chase, I started building a friendship with her and tried to figure out as much as I could on my on about her, which also included lots of facebook stalking. She started to notice how I was treating her. and to she appreciated everything I was doing for her. One Sunday afternoon at a Duncan Donuts, I finally got confirmation from a friend that it was time to ask Lizzy out, and that she wouldn’t say no. So, the very next day, after replacing the headlight in her car, I asked her out for dinner, and she said yes! After all that our relationship started to blossom, and during all this I felt that this was the woman I wanted to marry. -Derek
