Beautiful Japanese Gardens that is worth checking out!
Perfect park to take a walk and get a glimpse of the city. If you are lucky, you might be able to catch a glimpse of Mt. Hood!
Nordic food and is an absolute must for breakfast/brunch! Recommendations: Natalie - I always get the Folorade Agg - Lost Eggs with Ham and side of Sausage. Also, do yourself a favor and order of the pancakes to share with the table. Kent - Get the pancakes!
Our FAVORITE Hawaiian spot! Recommendations: Natalie - Go for the grilled grinds and get 2 different meats. My favorite is the Korean Chicken with extra sambal sauce. Kent - I like the Kalua Pig Grind. I don't order anything else.
The best burgers in town. You gotta go for the sliders over a full burger. Recommendations: Natalie - 2 sliders and a side of fries is the perfect meal. My favorites are the Fremont & Tilikum sliders. Kent - What Natalie said except I like the Broadway & whatever the special is. I always get the special.
A great spot to grab some awesome, fresh made pasta! The food can be rich but is really good and reasonably priced. There are multiple locations through out Portland.
The best Ramen by a long shot. It is the perfect meal for a typical PNW rainy day - once you experience a PNW rainy day, you'll understand. Please keep in mind that this restaurant is extremely small and wouldn't recommend parties over 4 people eating in. (Highly recommend getting take out!!) There are 2 locations one in Tigard and one in Hood River and have different menus - truly, you can't go wrong with any of the menu items.
Specializes in Biscuits and Gravy! A must eat the morning after the wedding!
Don't let the fact that this is located in a mall deter you. The first time we had it, it blew our minds. Incredible Chinese food that is absolutely worth the wait. The best part, you can put your name down on Yelp to get in line before you even get there! Recommendations: Natalie - You have to get multiple dishes while there but if you only get one thing, get the Wontons in the House Spicy Sauce. Kent: You have to get Xiao Long Bao, Shao Mai, and the Wontons with House Spicy Sauce. I know Natalie already said them but it's worth repeating. One of our friends even drank the sauce after the Wontons were gone - you know who you are.
If you truly want to experience Portland, you have to stop at a food cart pod to grab a bite to eat. There are dozens around the city you can find, but Hawthorn Asylum is a great spot with many different offerings!
The absolute best dessert! Gourmet S'mores. Need we say more? Check it out for yourself!
Make sure you schedule a tasting! Some of our favorite local Whiskey!
Great spot to grab a beer! Plenty of outdoor seating with tents to protect you from the rain!
A German bar that serves mostly German Beer! There are also some food carts in the back to grab a bite to eat!
The first brewery we had in Portland together! If you also want to grab a bite to eat here, highly recommend the Dirty Fries!!
Great spot with great beer and a good bite to eat!
Originally started in Bend, OR! A great spot to meet up and grab some solid beer and a bite to eat! Located in Downtown Portland
This is a ping pong bar - yes, you read that right! You can go in, rent a ping pong table and grab some drinks! A great spot to go with a group of people!
A must do while in Oregon! Definitely a tourist location but it's a must see, rain or shine!
This is one of our favorite "escapes" from Portland. The drive to Hood River is absolutely gorgeous and only about an hour away! You drive along the Columbia River through the Gorge. The views are incredible on the way and when you arrive to pFriem (pronounced Freem) you are greeted with great beer and even better food!
Located in Hood River, about 1 hour outside Portland, that is well worth the drive. Ferment has some different tasting beer but delicious none the less!
Since you're out on the West Coast in February, you might as well get some skiing/snowboarding in! Timberline is a great spot for all levels and the outside of the lodge was actually filmed to be in the movie the Shining! We recommend getting there early, before they open or later in the afternoon, as their parking lots usually fill up before the lifts open.
Great spot for skiing/snowboarding and beautiful views!
Great spot for winter sports!
If you are looking to get out to the Oregon Coast, Cannon Beach is a great town to stop in. It will be less busy during February as peak tourist season is in the summer.
If you are planning to make a trip out of our wedding, one of our most favorite areas to visit outside of Portland is Bend OR! Let us know if you need any suggestions!
