If you're arriving in Italy a few days early, consider spending time in one of these iconic cities: Rome – Soak in the ancient history, from the Colosseum to the Vatican. Great food, lively streets, and beautiful piazzas. Florence – Renaissance art, incredible shopping, and rooftop views over the Duomo. A must for art lovers and foodies alike. Pisa or Lucca – Smaller cities with charm and character, perfect for a relaxed pre-villa visit. Both Rome and Florence are great gateways to Tuscany and connect easily by train or car to the wedding venue.
Tuscany is famous for its wine, and there are plenty of vineyards near the villa offering tastings, tours, and countryside lunches. We recommend booking in advance for any formal tastings.
Massa Marittima – A postcard-perfect hilltop town with medieval charm and quiet streets to wander. Roccastrada – Our nearest town — small, authentic, and a great place to grab a coffee or explore a bit of local life. Castiglione della Pescaia – A beautiful coastal town if you’re craving beach views or seafood by the sea.
Petriolo Hot Springs – Natural thermal springs just over an hour away. Maremma Regional Park – A lesser-known nature reserve perfect for hiking or wildlife spotting along the coast.
Massa Marittima is a small medieval town situated on the metalliferous hills, a few miles away from Grosseto. It is famous for its square, monuments and historical center: you cannot miss it. Castiglione della Pescaia A small medieval village that comes alive with tourists in summer. It has deserved a blue lag for the excellent quality of its sea. Castiglione is a gem of Maremma with its choice of free and equipped beaches. The village is really charming, and the fishing boats that at sunset literally cross the village are a sight you will like. Petriolo Hot springs at a temperature of 43 degrees that are accessible freely or via private facilities. Here you can spend a day surrounded by nature. The baths of Petriolo are a good alternative to the beach in the middle season, when the sea water is too cold.
