Treneshia and Denzel initially met as students at the University of South Carolina. Mutual friends coordinated the union unintentionally, but this was not a love at first sight story. Denzel was a sophomore known for his laid back personality yet he navigated well within the campus’ social circles. Treneshia was a freshman eager to make new connections her first year. The two bumped into each other frequently on campus and at social events around USC. The faces that once were strangers became familiar, and eventually they became acquaintances. After being acquaintances for a year, the two quickly became friends sharing college memories with one another. Then unexpectedly, Treneshia and Denzel started to feel an attraction for one another. Denzel would say Treneshia started falling for him first, and Treneshia would debate Denzel started crushing on her first (there’s two sides to every story). Eventually the two exchanged phone numbers and talked for hours one summer break. Upon returning to college the following school year, the fire was still blazing between them. They continued getting to know each other. A few dates later, Denzel finally asked Treneshia to be his girlfriend the day after celebrating her 21st birthday.
Treneshia and Denzel made plans to go to Walt Disney World for their daughter Cali's 2nd birthday. In normal fashion, they asked their family and friends if they would like to join them for the vacation. Unbeknownst to Treneshia, Denzel made intentional plans to pop the question. Upon entering the Magic Kingdom park, Denzel let the photographers know he was going to propose. The two stood in front of the Cinderella Castle while Denzel got on one knee and Cali rushed in with a sign that read, "Mommy, will you marry Daddy?" Treneshia immediately said, "Yes!" The fireworks from the castle set off in the background and now March 30, 2018 will forever be a magical moment.
