We met during our sophomore architecture studio at Temple University and instantly clicked. For the next two years, we tried to convince everyone (and ourselves) that we were just friends, though our friends would happily tell you we were not very convincing. Fast forward to graduation week, where we spent every moment together with friends saying our goodbyes. Even then, we both knew it couldn’t be the last time we saw each other. Just a few weeks later, Jacob finally asked Rachel to be his girlfriend. Our relationship began long distance, with Jacob attending Carnegie Mellon University. After countless trips up and down the PA Turnpike, Rachel decided she had had enough of the distance. In December 2024, she packed up her life and moved to Pittsburgh to be with the love of her life. After months filled with shared memories, endless conversations about the future, and a little ring shopping along the way, Jacob proposed on October 11, 2025 at the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden. It felt especially meaningful, as their first date had been at Longwood Gardens. Now, as we begin this next chapter, we’re so excited to build our life together. Between planning a wedding and dreaming about the future, we feel incredibly grateful for the journey that brought us here and even more excited for everything still to come.
