We’re getting married!

Lauren and Josh first met at a mutual friend's house in Medford, NJ on January 23rd, 2016. Josh had just woken up at the responsible hour of 3pm in his friend's basement and Lauren was running out of patience waiting for this guy she's never met before to get up so everyone could go outside and enjoy the snow. It wasn't until Easter of that same year that Josh finally worked up the courage (and an excuse) to send Lauren a message on Facebook. It was a simple "Hey, happy Easter!" but that's what started years of innocent flirting through conversation and memes, the foundation of any quality relationship.

On January 23rd, 2021 (Exactly 5 years after they first met) Josh met with a few friends to brainstorm ideas for his engagement to Lauren. After a few hours the plan was set. The next day Lauren and Josh got a text from Emily, a good friend of theirs who happens to also be a pretty skilled photographer, asking them if they'd be interested in doing a couples photo shoot since "the couple she originally planned with couldn't make it and cancelled last minute." Lauren was slightly suspicious that Josh was so agreeable to the idea, but she brushed it off thinking that Josh didn't even have a ring yet anyway (he totally did). The following Saturday (January 30th, for those keeping track) Josh and Lauren drove down to Higbee Beach in Cape May, NJ and arrived just before sunset. After about 30 minutes of following Emily's instructions posing for an otherwise normal photo shoot on a cold, but beautiful January evening, Lauren lost all suspicion. Then Emily asked Josh to get in front of Lauren for a specific pose, but when he did he reached into his jacket pocket, got down on one knee, and asked Lauren if she would do him the honor of becoming his wife! At first, Lauren was so shocked all she could say was "What?!", but eventually she said yes.
