“I found the one whom my soul loves”

The couple met at Freedomhouse Church in 2019. Ray(Denny's dad) introduced Christian to her. Their first interaction was NOT rainbows and butterflies. During the meeting Christian mentioned how he remembered her from the previous church they both attended a few years back. Denny was not amused because she did not remember him at all and actually thought he was a creep. She proceeded to look at him with a glare and say "well I don't remember you" Per Denny: I was not saved when we met....but he clearly liked my rudeness because look at us now!

Denny's parents were out of town on vacation and she had shared that she would be spending the holiday alone due to not getting the vacation time approved by her job. Christian offered to hang out with her so she had something to do. The two spent the day going to Hillcrest park, taking photos on disposable cameras and purchasing fireworks from one of the vendors. As the day went on Christian's phone began to ring with calls from friends wanting to know where he was since he had made plans with them. Denny proceeded to ask if he needed to leave and he responded with a no, claiming that he had no plans and figured they could just spend the night setting off fireworks. He proceeded to take her to the train tracks behind their church to set off ILLEGAL fireworks. Denny was extremely nervous and scared that she would get arrested. Christian somehow convinced her that it was completely legal(he lied) and so she followed him through the fenced off section and passed the parked train carts. The two spent the next few hours setting off fireworks. Denny accidentally shot 4 Roman Candles at him and he still proceeded to give her even more fireworks to light(not very smart). By the end of the night they each had their own moment to realize that they wanted to be in each other's lives forever.

There are no words to describe how special this day is. From the details, the location, to the family and friends who helped Christian plan. The proposal of her dreams, Denny continues to rewatch and relive this moment as if her life depends on it. Special shout out to Ari for heavily gaslighting her into thinking she wasn’t getting proposed to anytime soon.
