Grant and I grew up attending Westover Hills Church of Christ together. We met in the youth group and spent years as friends, sharing church events, activities, and memories along the way. Even though our paths crossed often, it wasn't until later that we began to see each other differently. During college, life took us in different directions. I attended Baylor University while Grant went to Texas A&M. While we grew up as friends, we drifted apart in college, but everything changed when we both starting working at Westover in the summer of 2023 as youth interns. Spending the summer serving together, leading students, and sharing countless conversations helped us build a deeper friendship that continued long after the internship ended. In October 2023, Grant came with me as my plus-one to my cousin's wedding. I had developed a bit of crush, and wasn't sure if the feelings were mutual yet. My family laughed and reassured me that any boy who was willing to travel to be a plus one to a random person's wedding was definitely more than a friend. They were right. A month later, in November 2023, we officially started dating. We navigated the challenges of long distance between Waco and College Station, learning that no amount of miles could keep us apart. With every phone call, weekend visit, and relationship milestone, our friendship became the foundation for a relationship built on faith, laughter, and love. What started in a church youth group years ago has become the greatest blessing of our lives. We are so grateful for every chapter that brought us here, and we can't wait to begin the next one together as husband and wife.
