Who would have thought that the first letter of last names would help two people fall in love? We thank God for our last names. He could have birthed us to families with different last names. But instead, He let us both have our last names start with the letter V: Vargas and Villatoro. We met on August 14, 2012, at 32nd Street USC MAST Magnet High School. Freshman year started off with homeroom, which was categorized by last names (Vs went to room 203). Alex saw Dennise first but never got the courage to approach her. Everything really began to unravel during Period 1, Algebra 2 class. Mr. H gave the class assigned seats based on last names. Vargas was forced to sit next to Villatoro. We would love to say our story was rainbows and sunshine, but it was quite the contrary. Our journey is more of a haters-to-lovers situation. Here is the quick version: Alex said something serious to Dennise. Dennise exploded like a firecracker because she's slightly aggressive. Alex then bugged her every day and Dennise went along with it. After many months of banter, Alex made a sweet comment about Dennise and that's all it took for her to fall for him. Nine years have passed since those moments. They graduated high school together. They graduated UCLA together. Then they started their careers. The beauty of sharing the letter V means Dennise's last name won't change much in her career. She will go from Ms. V to Mrs. V. So come along on this journey. Experience the moment when Dennise goes from Ms. V to Mrs. V. The moment Alex Vargas finally gets to sit next to Dennise Vargas. The moment Waffle, Alex, and Dennise become The Vargas Family.
