Our story began with a “This is my number…” and a “Cool…Here’s mine...” 😉 We met through mutual friends living in Los Angeles at a young age. It's strange that we met through friends even though we went to the same high school and our parents live exactly 1 mile apart. Our life on the East Coast was truly where our love flourished, and although at times we thought we weren’t going to make it, true love always prevails. Moving across the country, away from our friends and family forced us to grow up, but one thing remained the same, we always had each other. Happy to say that this young love is growing old together.

Evelin planned what I thought was an impromptu trip to Breckenridge, Colorado with our friends. Evelin was flying in from a business trip and I was flying in from Washington D.C. The day seemed so normal, we drove up the mountain, singing our favorite songs before stopping to grab a bite to eat. After we ate, Evelin and our friends kept insisting that we take a ride on the gondola lift. I was a bit hesitant, as I’ve never really trusted gondolas. I mean, the doors shut, and seconds later, the swinging cable car heads towards the top of the mountain. I was focused on the imbalance in the gondola, as everyone else was impressed with the stupendous views. After a few moments of moving around, I finally felt comfortable enough to stand up and take in the sights. Everyone knows that I never pass up an opportunity to take plenty of photos. As we are slowly climbing, the sun starts to set over the snowy mountains, in the background, I hear Evelin say, “Chiquita, can you turn around please?” As I turn around, there she is, cooler than a cucumber, and on one knee. She says, “Will you marry me?” I gasp, surprised and shocked. The only words I was able to get out was “Oh my god” before screaming “Yes”, and grabbing her face to kiss her. To say I was freaking out is an understatement. It takes me a few seconds to realize what was happening. As soon as I did, I said, "OMG, my hair!" We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Italy!
