Meet Us On Cloud Nine

We met working in Busch Gardens during a shift at SheiKra. Somewhere in the midst of the crowd's insanity while working at height-stick, and because silence is boring, we struck a conversation for the first time. After hearing her speak, Jahlil, not knowing her name, or bothering to look at her name tag, immediately asked if she was from New York due to her accent. Later on in their shift, Jahlil would ask Denise to go to see the new Avengers movie with him. Though at first, neither of them knew it was a date, it was the first of many more.

We decided to go to Washington, DC, for the cherry blossom festival with two of our friends. This magical moment was staged as a photo shoot with the four of us, but Jahlil had other intentions. After searching for a spot to take the pictures, Denise was sent ahead to "pick a good tree" for the background prop. Laughs were shared as everyone had their photo taken. By the end, V pointed out that we hadn't taken any couple photos, and Darien sprang into action to make sure we got them. Denise eventually ran out of poses to do and was ready to go when Jahlil said, "Wait, I have one more picture I want to take. Turn around."
