Devon and I first met in Mrs. Maxwell's English class when he was a senior and I was a freshman. I thought Devon was just the cutest boy I had ever seen, but at the time he had girlfriend and our love story didn't spark until February of 2017 - eight years later. Devon started working at the same pizza place in town that my mom worked at and so did I occasionally, once we started talking it only took Devon a month to ask me to be his girlfriend, and the rest is history.
Devon and I had been together for 4.5 years when we knew that we wanted to start a family. At some point we knew that marriage would come, but not before our biggest blessing happened on August 21, 2021.
I had been (not so patiently) waiting for that question every girl wants to hear, since Christmas Eve. Devon is really bad at keeping secrets so I knew that he had the ring, and he was bound to pop the question at some point, but Christmas came and gone and he had yet to ask me. When New Year's Eve rolled around and he asked me to go to dinner I just knew it was going to happen. . . until he asked if we wanted to invite my parents. My parents declined the offer, but we still went. Once dinner was done Devon went to pay, as he came back he asked me if I was ready when I responded with yes, he grabbed my hand and responded with "I don't think you are", next thing I know he is on one knee and the waitress is video taping the whole thing (one of my conditions for the proposal was for it to be video taped). Of course I responded back with, YES! And here we are now. . .
