Zilker Metropolitan Park
Over 350 acres of rolling hills with Barton Springs located right at the center. The park is adjacent to the Colorado River and has plenty of open space for strolling. Very dog-friendly and make sure to check out the Zilker Zephyr for kids—a 3-mile miniature train ride around the park

The Texas Capitol is a nice visit for people interested in history, day or night. You can spend 30 min just seeing the outside and statues or 2 hours if you want to see the inside(closed at night).
