We are honored to include several meaningful Mexican wedding traditions that reflect Denise's heritage. Here’s a brief overview so you can follow along and fully enjoy these special moments: CEREMONY TRADITIONS El Lazo (The Lasso) A floral or rosary-like loop is placed around us in an infinity shape during the ceremony. This symbolizes our unity and the everlasting bond of marriage. Las Arras (The Coins) We will exchange 13 coins as a symbol of trust, prosperity, and our commitment to support one another. The coins also represent shared responsibility in our marriage. Ramo para la Virgen (Bouquet for the Virgin Mary) A bouquet is offered to the Virgin Mary as a gesture of gratitude and a prayer for guidance and blessings in our marriage. Biblia y Rosario (Bible and Rosary) These are presented as gifts symbolizing faith, spiritual guidance, and the importance of keeping God at the center of our marriage. Cojines (Kneeling Pillows) Special pillows are used during the ceremony to kneel in prayer, representing humility, devotion, and reverence. RECEPTION TRADITIONS Baile de las Flores A regional dance from Puebla, Mexico, celebrating joy, community, and cultural roots. Guests may be invited to participate! Baile del Dólar (Money Dance) Guests have the opportunity to dance briefly with the bride or groom while pinning money onto them, symbolizing support and well wishes for our future. Baile de la Víbora de la Mar A lively and playful tradition where guests form a “snake” line and try to pass under the bride and groom. El Vals con Nuestros Padrinos (Waltz with Our Godparents) A special waltz shared with our padrinos to honor their support, love, and role in our lives. Brindis (Toast) We’ll share a toast to celebrate love, gratitude, and the beginning of our life together—often accompanied by heartfelt words from loved ones.
