Where to start? We first met as sophomores in Highschool in 2007, but we are not going that far back. After 10 years of having lost contact (2017) Angel and I reconnected via facebook one night when an old friend of ours pulled up his profile as I curiously asked what had been of him. In that moment I decided I would send him a friend request and a few hours later not only did he accept my request, but he also sent me a DM. Not long after messaging we both realized we had been living only a street away from each other for the last year. Naturally we were both excited to reconnect so we decided to meet up the next day and go on a first date. 10 minutes into our first date Angel asks "Am I your cup of tea?" Little did I know he came to that date with a purpose.... and today ... his purpose is my life!

Let's just say I expected the unexpected. A few weeks before he proposed he called me to let me know he was going to come home very late due to a busy day at work. I said "okay, no worries and I'll see you when you get home." Well, he sure was not counting on the fact that 5 minutes after hanging up I would be passing by Discount Tire as I was stopping at a nearby store. To my surprise Discount Tire was already closed with no cars in the parking lot. This may sound cliché, but my mind instantly went to "he is buying me a ring" I don't know how or why as we had not talked about getting married anytime soon. When I got home he came out of the bedroom to say hi and when I asked how work went he went on and on talking about how busy they were. As he paused I pulled out the bag from Old Navy and told him I had stopped to get me something. His eyes got big and face went blank knowing he got caught in the middle of a lie. For those who don't know Old Navy was directly behind the Discount Tire Angel was working at that time. The very next thing that came out of his mouth was "I went looking at engagement rings." He did not try to lie or cover it up he just straight up confessed. The second time he went out looking for a ring he did not try to hide it. He simply said I am going to look at rings I'll see you when I get back knowing very well he couldn't lie. I must admit though after all that he still managed to surprise me. He got home with a beautiful necklace and bracelet and let me know he had to order my ring and it should be ready in a couple of weeks. Not giving it another thought we got ready that night as we had plans to go out with friends. It was about 9 pm when my mom video called me. Surprised and confused I answered the phone as I had no idea that my mom even knew how to video call! First thing that comes out of her mouth is CONGRATULATIONS! I then asked "for WHAT?" Then it dawned on me. I turned around to see Angel on his knee! How did I not see that coming is beyond me!
