Question

GETTING TO OUR VENUE

Answer

Our venue, Borgo Antico Casalbosco, is nestled among the rolling hills of the Tuscan countryside between the towns of Pistoia and Prato. While being conveniently located just 20 minutes away from both of these larger towns, the immediate surroundings are relatively remote. While the city centers of both Pistoia and Prato are extremely walkable, it is not possible to walk from either town all the way to our venue. Because of this, we do recommend that you consider a rental car or scheduled rides, if you are not comfortable calling taxis or navigating local ride share services. If you would rather use public transportation, the easiest path to our venue is by arriving to Italy at Florence Airport (Amerigo Vespucci Airport). You can then take the tram (T2 line) to Florence's main train station (Firenze Santa Maria Novella). From there, take the local train line to the Pistoia area. (( NOTE: Florence Airport is known to be quite unpredictable with flight delays and cancellations. Other airports to consider if your itinerary allows: Bologna, Milan, Rome )) The closest train stop to our venue (just a 5 minute drive) is Montale Agliana. However, there is no taxi post at this train station, so if you plan to get off here, you will need a pre-planned pick up. There are no sidewalks along the route so we definitely do not recommend walking from this station to our venue. The other option would be to get off the train a bit further away, either at Prato Centrale station (20 minute drive from venue) or Pistoia station (15 minute drive from venue). The advantage of getting off at either of these stations is that they both have a taxi post, so you will be able to get a ride to our venue on the spot with no pre-planning or reservation.

Question

ONCE YOU'RE THERE

Answer

Once you arrive at the venue on the 23rd (yay!), we want you to feel completely at ease. From the moment you check in until it's time to check out on the 25th, we’ll have everything you need right there on site—including all meals, drinks, and all the essentials—so you can relax and truly enjoy your time as our guest. While you’ll be well taken care of, you're absolutely welcome to come and go as you please. If you'd like to explore the surroundings during your stay, the venue staff will be happy to help you arrange a taxi or local excursion.

Question

CURRENCY EXCHANGE

Answer

We have found it helpful to have a few hundred Euro in cash with us while in Italy. Our biggest piece of advice is to avoid the airport exchange counters! They will charge a 19.9% service fee, just below the legal limit of 20% :-). We recommend looking into currency exchange programs with your bank in your home country beforehand and doing some research into current exchange rates. American Express is accepted at most but not all Italian vendors. It's best not to rely solely on AMEX while in Italy.

Question

POWER ADAPTERS

Answer

You will need a power adapter for the outlets! Our venue (and Italy as a whole) uses Type C & F outlets.

Question
