Our proposal story is a rollercoaster, so buckle up! It all started with a family vacation to Punta Cana. As soon as we got to our resort, Scott went up to the VIP Lounge to sign us up for a romantic beach dinner. At first, I thought nothing of it. Scott has always been one to perform large gestures of appreciation and affection. So the night of the beach dinner came, and while getting ready, I had a thought in the back of my mind, "Is Scott going to propose tonight?" I immediately dismissed that notion due to thinking this would be another "average" romantic gesture. Later, while Scott was getting ready, I asked him flat out, "Are you going to propose to me tonight?" At this point, and as I found out later, Scott was panicking but simply said "Of course not, when would we have time to go look at rings and get you sized correctly?" I just laughed and agreed thinking to myself that it was silly that I would think tonight would be "the night." (BOY WAS I WRONG) We got to our table and immediately started drinking champagne and having a phenomenal dinner along the beach on a tropical island. But if anyone knows me, they know I can't leave well enough alone. When we sat down, I decided it would be a good idea to tell Scott "I am glad you aren't proposing tonight. I would not want to be proposed to on a family vacation. I would want it to just be me and you." (INSERT FACE PALM HERE) After me saying that, hiding it from me, Scott frantically texted his family who were ACROSS THE BEACH FROM US waiting to take pictures to abort mission because I would not want anyone there for our proposal. (INSERT FACE PALM NO. 2) After our main course was over, Scott had asked our waiter to take some pictures of us on the beach. After snapping a couple nice ones, Scott looks over at me and uttered four words, "I am so sorry." As soon as he finished those words, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Now, of course here is where I started balling my eyes out and obviously said yes, (otherwise this site would not exist). We sat down and the first thing Scott asked me was if I was happy and ok with being proposed to on a family vacation. IF I COULD GO BACK IN TIME TO WHEN WE WERE GETTING READY AND SMACK MYSELF I WOULD. With tears in my eyes, I said "I love you and I love this. I wouldn't change a single thing about this night."
