Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please plan to arrive from 4:00 - 4:15 PM. Our ceremony begins promptly at 4:30PM MST. Get ready to take in the beautiful views!

Question

How do we get to the wedding venue?

Answer

1. Shuttle: We will have shuttles from Austria Haus (Hyatt) to Camp Hale that leave at 3:30pm (there will not be a second pickup). Shuttles will arrive at Austria Haus from 2:45 - 3:00 PM. These shuttles will take passengers from the hotel to the wedding venue/reception. They will also take passengers back from the venue to the hotel after the reception. Shuttles will have a sign on the front windshield that says Camp Hale Weddings and each shuttle has a wrap on it that says Nova Guides. These shuttles will take passengers to the wedding venue and return back to the hotel drop off. Shuttles will be waiting ready to take passengers back from the venue whenever you're ready to leave. At 10:30PM shuttles will start running every 15 minutes. 2. Drive/Carpool: You are welcome to drive/carpool and park at the venue. However, if you take a shuttle back to Vail Village, you will need to make arrangements for transportation in the morning to retrieve your vehicle. For driving directions/details, please read below.

Question

Where is the wedding venue located?

Answer

The wedding venue is called Camp Hale and is located 20miles from Vail Village. Address: 7088 US-24, Red Cliff, CO 81649 Directions to Camp Hale: 1. From Vail Village get on i-70W 2. Take Exit 171 to merge onto US-24E/US-6E toward Minturn 3. Stay on US-24E for roughly 20 mins 4. Camp Hale will be located on your left. There will be a wooden arch that says "Nova Guides". You can park in front of the lodge. Note: Cell phone service is spotty along the way so if you are driving, please make sure to get your directions entered into Google Maps before you leave Vail Village.

Question

Where do you recommend flying into?

Answer

We recommend flying into Denver International Airport (DIA), which is located 120 miles east of Vail (around a two-hour drive). It's the largest airport in Colorado and if you plan on renting a car this makes travel the most convenient. Alternatively, you can connect in Denver and fly directly to Eagle Regional Airport, which is located 30 miles west of Vail (around a 40-minute drive). That said, Eagle Regional is a much smaller airport and renting a car is a bit more pricey.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes! Please see our "travel" page for hotel information.

Question

Is elevation sickness something I should worry about?

Answer

Yes. The elevation in Vail is 8239 feet above sea level. However, if you take the necessary precautions, you can completely avoid altitude sickness. Things we recommend: -Acclimate slowly: If you think you are greater risk of altitude sickness then I highly recommend flying to Denver and driving from Denver to Vail so you can acclimate slowly. - Drink water: The air is much dryer at higher elevations and this can cause dehydration which increases your risk of getting sick. Start hydrating on the plane before you arrive to Denver and continue to keep yourself hydrated during your trip. A god rule of thumb is to drink 32oz of water ever couple hours. - Do your research: Altitude sickness is completely avoidable as long as you do your research and pay attention to your body

Question

How do you recommend getting around?

Answer

We highly recommend renting a car if you're able to. The drive from Denver to Vail is a beautiful experience in itself and we don't want you to miss a thing! However, there are additional options if you'd prefer not to drive yourself. 1. Book a shuttle: Vail is a popular destination so there's a bunch of shuttles to and from Vail and the airport. You can book your shuttle through mountainshuttle.com or check with your hotel to see if they have a shuttle. 2. Carpool with other guests: If you'd like to coordinate with other guests to carpool, please let us know and we'll help make some connections.
