How We Met

October 2010

We met at a bar and yes you did the math correct we were 19 years young. Nick was a guy I had seen out in the past but never had the "courage" to talk to him. That night, my friends had noticed my odd obsession and convinced me to "Just go say hi!". With the help of Ciara Coke, my exceptional wing girl, I made my move. We approached Nick and his friend with the best pick up line we could think, pretending that we knew who they were small talk began and Nick ended up getting my number. Oh it didn't just end there, it took multiple months later, many dates and nights out until we officially began to date. Some say I was "playing hard to get", I say thats just how you keep a man interested and clearly it worked ;)

Started Dating

04. 23. 11

This is the date we made it official that we were a couple. After a fun night out for the O's game, Nick asked me to be his girlfriend. We celebrate this date each year.

Homeowners

09. 27. 16

After five years of dating, we came across an awesome opportunity to have a brand new home built in Harford County, MD. I was currently still in nursing school but had a job lined up and Nick was up for a promotion at his work, we took the chance and bought the house! It took from January till August to be built and we moved in in September! Things worked out better than we EVER imagined and we absolutely adore our beautiful home.

Puppy Parents

10. 08. 16

If you are reading this page you most likely are close family and friends and already know the tragedy that Nick and I experienced in July 2017. I won't write the story on this page but I don't mind explaining it to people who want to know and/are confused. Our puppy babies mean the world to us and both Sadie and Gracie have played a HUGE part in our lives and relationship so they could never be left out of the website. They both hold a very special place in our hearts. I speak of Sadie as if she is still with us today because although she physically isn't here she will always be in spirit. She taught us how to live fully and how strong we are as a couple. Although this all sounds extremely corny there really is no other way to describe it. We both gained a new outlook on life and learned that as a couple there is nothing life can throw at us that we can't handle.

The Proposal

11. 08. 2017

I was somehow able to convince Nick to boldly go out of his all inclusive tropical island comfort zone and travel to a place much more foreign, Iceland! After hours of planning and multiple itineraries later it was booked! I had the perfect vacation planned but little did I know how perfect it was really going to be. He proposed on the third day of our trip on Sólheimasandur black sand beach. It was cold and rainy but it was the most private place we had been, most sites are extremely touristy. Regardless of the weather the beach was the most beautiful place I had EVER seen. It has very little seashell sand and instead is filled with black smooth stones and oddly shaped moss covered rocks and cliffs, which you see in the beginning of our proposal video. Apparently, Nick had my ring picked our since September and it was at my parents house. Yes, the BIGGEST shock of all is that my parents knew for two whole months and never said a word. UNBELIEVABLE for the Fowler's! This ring traveled from the States to Iceland and Iceland to the States with a great story to tell.
