Yes. You will need a valid passport to travel to Aruba
Nope! We have a room discount code if you would like to stay there. The link on our travel page sends you directly to the discounted booking price. However, you are welcome to stay at an Airbnb or another hotel on the island. We have put a few options on the travel page. Divi Village Golf and Beach Resort is also close by if you are looking for something close to the wedding venue. There are many homes and condos available to rent on Airbnb and VRBO around the island. Mark and I will be staying with our children in an Airbnb for the week as well.
There are plenty of taxis available on Aruba. They use a flat fee for service. Cost of a taxi to/ from the airport is $31 and for most rides to restaurants and downtown it is $12. The taxis are very clean and safe and most of the taxi drivers are fluent in English. However, if you prefer to have a car there are several places on the island to rent a car. If you would like a car to pick you up from the airport, let us know your flight arrangements and Mark and I will arrange a pick up for you.
The national language of Aruba is Papiemento and Dutch. However, as Aruba has a strong focus on tourism, most Arubans are multilingual and are fluent in English and Spanish.
Arubans use the Aruba florin for currency. However, everything in Aruba can be purchased with US dollars. There is no need to convert any money.
We want everyone comfortable and ready to celebrate with us in Aruba! For the men, khakis or linen pants and a collared shirt and for women a sundress or pantsuit. Flip flops are perfectly acceptable for the wedding as the ceremony and reception will be on the beach.
Absolutely not! We want to be respectful of your time in Aruba. We appreciate you taking your vacation time to join us for the wedding. If you enjoy sitting by the pool or on the beach and reading a book each day… we love that for you! If you would like to go shopping or golfing every day on your vacation instead of joining us for an activity… enjoy! Do you like to do a lot of physical activities? Great, feel free to join us on the UTV tour and snorkeling. We want you to enjoy your time on the island- whatever that looks like for you! We are just so happy that you will be joining us for the wedding. Just let us know what events you would like to join and we will make the arrangements for you.
Aruba is very close to the equator so sunscreen is really important. The cost of sunscreen is about double the price in Aruba. Bring spf of at LEAST 50 with you and maybe even 100 if you burn easily. The stores in Aruba will have anything you need but you will pay a lot more.
We recognize that not everyone has the ability to be with us the whole week in Aruba. We wanted to get married on Friday so that if some guests were only able to come to Aruba for a long weekend, then they would be able to attend.
