First, we want to give honor to God for bringing us together. It has indeed been a blessing meeting each other. After years of fasting and praying, I (the bride) give up on finding love. I was sure what I was looking for did not exist, especially in this modern day and age. My good friend Shirley has been trying to match-make me for a long time. I will tell her I am uninterested whenever she tells me about someone. Her words were, "You gal, I will not stop trying until you find your husband & be happy." She is a confident sister that would always pray with me. Molley saw my picture on her Instagram & wanted to talk to me. She told him to pray about it. He said, but I already prayed about it, lol. Knowing Shirley, she would not buy that and told him to pray some more. She told me about Molley, and I told her I was not ready to date. She said, try and see. If it doesn't work out, you gain a new friend. He is a perfect guy. He loves to work out, is educated and intelligent, and is a Christian. Immediately she mentioned that he is a Christian; I gave it a second thought. One thing I would not do is be with someone who does not know God or has a relationship with His son Jesus Christ. We instantly connected after talking, & he was sure I would be his wife. I told him to have patience with me as I was not emotionally ready. He agreed and kept calling. There were days I did not feel like talking to him, but he kept calling. Always so gentle, calm, and soft-spoken. He was persistent & consistent. As days and months went by, everything became apparent and evident that he was my soulmate. Molley's prayer was to be with someone who fears the Lord and cares for her family. He admired the way I cared for my children. He was attracted to these qualities & more. In addition to being a dark-skinned queen, lol. Being in a long-distance relationship is challenging, but I would not allow that to stop me from forming a bond & connection with this man. So, I decided to plan my birthday in Gambia & meet him. WE TOOK THREE DAYS FAST before I went on the trip and prayed. We prayed that God would have his way according to his plan and purpose for our lives. In the back of my head, I made a vow to God. I asked for specific signs, and he gave me a word. God said, "Honor me with your body, my daughter." I knew what that meant & was determined to be obedient this time. 1 Corinthians 6:19 -Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own. While in Gambia, everything was natural and mutual. We immediately had a connection, and everything I prayed about was evident. Molley was so nervous to meet me. He feared that we wouldn't get along. Then, on March 16, 2023, he asked me to marry him. I was shocked. It was God confirming his Word at that moment. I was so distracted that day and upset that he was not taking my birthday seriously. I expected a dramatic scene, but he is so private that you won't even figure out his moves. It was frustrating because I love to play mini detective, lol. Little did I know that he had it all figured out. He kept smiling that whole day, and I asked him what the plan was. Where are we going, what time, etc? My military instinct kicked in, but he kept telling me to relax. I was not fond of his calmness at all, lol. After we got to the famous Poco Loco restaurant, he had his friend follow us all night to take pictures. I thought it wasn't charming initially, but I am glad his friend was there to share that moment. Here we are planning a whole wedding. The story's moral is that God can change any situation in a day. It doesn't matter what you are facing; God knows the end from the beginning. So trust Him and serve him diligently. He is a God of His Word. Proverbs 3:5-8 -Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.
