We met while sailing the rivers of the world as skippers on the World Famous Jungle Cruise during our Disney College Program in Fall 2012. It was the dream job in the most magical place on Earth, and we became fast friends exploring all of Orlando together on our days off. After our College Program ended, we stayed in touch and would sometimes get to see each other again when we would come back to Disney seasonally. In June 2014, Paul had moved back to Orlando permanently and Demi was planning on moving that September, so he decided to make a move. He had planned to somehow express his feelings during the showing of Fantasmic they were attending together, but Florida had other plans. Due to inclement weather, Fantasmic was canceled, so he ended up expressing his feelings in the super romantic setting of Disney's Hollywood Studios parking lot. It wasn't the setting that was important, but the person, and Demi gladly accepted his offer to go on a date when she moved down that September. Fast forward to September 3rd 2014. We went on our first date at EPCOT, and the rest is history.

On our five year anniversary, Paul had planned to recreate our first date at EPCOT. After a nice anniversary dinner we would conclude the evening with the firework spectacular, Illuminations, which is where we shared our first kiss five years ago. During the fireworks he was going to propose! Once again, Florida had other plans, and Hurricane Dorian swept through Orlando on September 3rd, causing EPCOT to close early thus canceling Illuminations. Because Paul is terrible at hiding surprises, Demi started to realize he had been planning a proposal. While she was surprised, he proposed at our apartment with nobody else around other than the cats. It was a wonderful private moment that we got to share with each other. And the cats.
