January 29th was the day he FINALLY asked me to be his girlfriend. About a month or two prior (he has the exact dates written down because he's so cute) he sent me a private message on Instagram telling me he thought I was cute, could he have my number? I read it but didn't respond right away. Then, we somehow were "following" eachother on Twitter & I liked something that he retweeted. He sent me another private message saying the same thing again. I finally gave in and gave him my number not knowing what was about to happen. We spent every single day texting each other, never calling because we both are so awkward. To see if we were getting anywhere after several dates I texted him and said "My mom wants to know what we are? Are we dating or what?", he took HOURS to respond and I just knew that it was done & over with right then and there. Boy, was I wrong. He sent me a text with a picture of a cheese pizza box opened and it said "Will you be my girlfriend, or is this too cheesy?" Obviously, I said yes because that's exactly what I hoped for!
January 29th was the day he asked me to be his girlfriend. We began spending almost every day together, we made a deal where I would come spend the night with him Thursdays-Sundays because we were both in school still. Eventually, I "sneakily" moved in with him & his parents. I started with placing piles of clothing underneath his bed as my "closet" because god forbid I share his dresser. LOL. I lived with him up until October of 2016. In 2016 we got our first apartment together & realized QUICKLY we hated apartment living. Our parking spots always got stolen, the neighbors extremely loud, the maintenance people ALWAYS coming into our apartment. It got to be a headache. Months after we moved in we started a home buying process. After lots of homes we thought we could have and see ourselves in all fell through. I remember the day I seen our house now for sale on our "Mibor" website we had, I had seen the house for sale around 4:30pm on a Wednesday I do believe & I immediately called our realtor and told her we HAD to see this house. The next day we had a showing at like 10am and for whatever reason Dallas was home from work. We went with my mom to look at this house & we knew immediately it was what we both wanted. Nice big yard, laundry space, master bed room size. We immediately put in an offer & found out it got accepted a couple days later! Buying our home was the easiest process ever (seriously, shout out to Chelsea Tiefel & Jenni Limbach!) I remember on our Florida trip in June 2017 we were going down to our condo's office and begging them to use their computer to print off papers we needed to sign while we were DAYS away from closing. They were so generous and let us use their computers to print off what we needed. We finally closed on our home July 14th, 2017!
We planned on having a HUGE family get together at our house for our first Easter in our home. We invited everyone over and I spent DAYS cleaning my house, rearranging things to accommodate everyone. My mom came over to help me which was nothing unusual. I remember the night before I was finishing some last minute cleaning & putting up just some little décor as we were going to be at Church the morning of Easter. I was in the kitchen getting everything ready for the next day & all of a sudden Kristi (Dallas's mom) showed up with this huge plastic egg. The egg didn't open and it was a light purple color. She had wrote on it Easter 2018 and on the other side said "A day to remember" I remember looking at it and thinking "A day to remember because this is the first year everyone is together at OUR house for a holiday." I was NOT thinking my life was about to get better. Kristi had everyone go in order of who to open their eggs first. It was youngest to oldest. With me going first because I am the youngest out of the kids, I opened all mine and got little trinkets and candy. Our very first April Fools Day together Dallas had faked a proposal to me, and YES I was so mad at him for doing that to me. I had told Kristi about this and so she put a ring pop in an egg and it said something about "RING-pop, APRIL FOOLS!" We laughed because of the circumstances that happened years ago. Then, it was Dallas's turn to open his eggs and he got to the last one.. he got on one knee & POPPED THE QUESTION!!! I cried and hugged him and his mom yelled this is NOT an April Fools joke! We got some gifts from my parents & everyone continued on opening their eggs. People has asked me how I didn't know what was happening, my answer is always NOTHING was out of the ordinary. Not one single thing. Looking back now, I can see some things that I should've noticed then but just didn't.
