I’ve been friends with Demetrius Willingham for over 10 plus years. We met through a mutual friend. They told me that he could out drink me - we put that to the test. We drank and I don’t remember much after that but what I do know is through out our friendship, he’s been one of my closest, most dependable and loyal friends I’ve ever had. He’s always willing to be there for someone he cares for and he’s never afraid to back down from any of my crazy adventures and or ideas. I’m so happy that he found someone like Victoria - who matches him and makes him more happy than I’ve ever seen him. I wish these two nothing but the best.

I remember from the 1st day I met Demetrius I immediately felt that he was super genuine, trusting, honest and one of the most humble guys and that's not something you see every day in the Marine Corps. He quickly became one of my best friends to this day. I appreciate him and I am so happy that he found the love of his life. I am glad that I am not going to have to hit you with the bull horn this time like that one time in Oman when we were deployed lol. Ever since Meach has brought Victoria around he has always been in such a happy place. These two are literally two peas in a pod!! Their bond is like no other although I tell them they’re extra cheesy I love seeing them being what I call nerds together playing their video games or when they’re both helping each other out in the kitchen preparing dinner. The Marine Corps has a funny way of introducing you to family you never knew you had. Though dysfunctional, Demetrius Willingham was the brother I never had. We fought too often, laughed too hard, and got into more trouble than either of us would be willing to admit. We held one another accountable when our wild sides got carried away, yet we help one another stand through adversity and difficult times. For better or worse a segment of our lives are interwoven so we may never forget one another. Thats allowed us to stay close regardless of the distance between us or the time between catching up. Though our lives have continued to push forward we have never stopped reaching out to share a laugh, cause that’s just what families do.

I would describe our friendship like herpes because of 3 reasons. 1). I didn’t grow up with Willingham I got him in my early 20s 2). We don’t see/hear from each-other every day, or even every month, but when we do hit each-other up from time to time we definitely don’t forget that we have each-other. 3). And just like herpes... we both know that we got each-other for life!
