After hiking up McAffee Knob at sunrise separately, we had our beautiful wedding ceremony led by our officiant, Chris Karol. Our dog was present, since he is the only pet we adopted together.
Instead of vows, we decided to do a unity hand fasting, an ancient tradition practiced by lovers past.
Three chords are placed over the couples hands - one represents the bride and all that she was, one represents the groom and all that he was, and the last represents the couple and all that they will be.
After letting go of each other's hands, we were able to literally "tie the knot"!
We had some hot cocoa while we were laughing in the hammock. We had an amazing time, and as you can see in the photos, we couldn't stop smiling.
Although untraditional, we are thrilled we had a unique spring wedding that captured everything we love about each other!
