Question

Will there be a ceremony beforehand?

Answer

No, we will be married in a private ceremony at an earlier date. This day is a laid-back brunch celebration for all!

Can I bring a friend? Who is included in my invitation?

Answer

If your invitation only says your name, then you are the only person included in the invitation. If your invitation says Your Name "and Guest," you may bring any one guest. If your invitation says Your Name "and Family," your spouse and children are all invited. When you RSVP, please include the names of everyone who will be attending.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Not really! We want everyone to feel beautiful and comfortable (and definitely have enough room to enjoy the delicious food). If we HAD to say though, let’s go with “brunch casual” -- think sun dresses, khaki’s, and sipping coffee and mimosas in the garden.

Are children invited to the reception?

Answer

Of course! We will have plenty of space to accommodate little ones. Just be sure to include them with your RSVP so we know how many to count. It wouldn’t be a celebration if everyone wasn’t included!

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We have room blocks with special rates at two different area hotels to help make your travel plans easier. You can find links to both on the “travel” page of our website. The Courtyard Marriott is closer to the venue and more family-friendly, and the Marriott in Uptown Normal is closer to bars, restaurants, and night activities by the ISU campus. If you need suggestions, both the bride and groom are here to help!

Is this event outdoors?

Answer

The reception will have space both indoors and outdoors to celebrate. While the food will be inside, we will have several cocktail tables outside if you choose, as well as a bartender and lawn games. There’s plenty of space for everyone!
