Though Andrew and Danielle started Drexel nursing school together in 2011, it was not until their senior year, in 2015, that they had their first interaction. They were fatefully assigned their final clinical together and had arranged to carpool with their mutual friend, Eric. Andrew was smitten by Danielle after she sang along to Nathaniel Rateliff's "Son of a Bitch" during their commutes together and decided to invite her to his Halloween party on Mischief Night at a local bar. Danielle, dressed as a ballerina, and Andrew donning his wetsuit, danced the night away. The rest is history.
On a beautiful September morning, Andrew and Danielle headed to the Wissahickon to take their beloved dog, Denali, on a hike for her one year adoptiversary. During the hike, Danielle kept trying to convince Andrew to head back towards the car because they had a brunch planned at LaCroix to celebrate his mom's retirement. Luckily, Andrew was able to persuade Danielle to continue on their hike. After they emerged from behind a rock, Danielle noticed the beautiful Finger Span bridge was covered in twinkle lights: "Look! Someone decorated the bridge!" she exclaimed. It wasn't until they were close that she began to notice the pictures of her and Andrew that lined the inside of the bridge. Andrew and Denali walked ahead of Danielle, and as she exited the bridge, she read the "Will You Marry Me?" sign and saw Andrew down on one knee. Through tears, Danielle said "Yes!". Moments later, she looked up the trail slope and saw their entire family watching the proposal from above! Danielle was so happy that the proposal felt so intimate and private, but their family was able to watch as well! Afterwards, they all went to LaCroix to celebrate!
