We originally met when we were ages 17 and 19. Andrew was a friend of my brother in college, so we would see one another occasionally when I would visit. We became friends but we were at different colleges pursuing different futures. Over the years he would send me messages every so often to play a corny little game, which I would always lose because he showed no mercy, we would wish one another a happy birthday, or by chance be at the same event. We have a shared friend who was the reason we kept bumping into each other (to whom we are very grateful for). On March 27th of 2020 our mutual friend invited us both to a virtual game night amidst Covid. Andrew reached out and said I should join and the rest is history, we couldn't get enough of each other. We joined game night every Friday (mostly to see each other) and facetimed everyday. We finally reunited in July when he asked me to be his girlfriend officially. One year later on March 27th of 2021 he would ask me to be his wife, but that's another story.
Andrew I both love this cozy Mexican restaurant in Old Town San Diego where we had one of our first dates so on March 27th 2021, one year after we re-met, we decided to go to dinner there once again. And for anyone who knows me tacos are the way to my heart. After dinner I suggested we go to La Jolla cove for the sunset. Little did I know that was already a part of his plan. We arrived and walked around a bit until we ended up on this small little beach cove. He suggested we stand on this amazing rock in the water. He began talking as I interrupted to point out a wave headed our way. Andrew insisted it was small and wouldn't crash hard but I kept asking to get off the rock until CRASH. I was soaked up to my waist and his jeans were soaked as well. We stepped off of the rock where he began again as I was wringing out my dress, and that's when I realized what was happening. At the very beach he first told me he loved me, he told me he wanted to love me forever and asked me to be his wife. With tears in my eyes I of course said YES! (check out the engagement tab for pictures!)
Yes you heard that right, we did elope! Why wait to marry your best friend right? Of course we still want to celebrate this joyous time with everyone we love, which means you! We were married on Monday May 24, 2021 which will be our celebrated anniversary. Falling even more in love over the course of almost a year and a half has been the most wonderful journey and will surely be reflected in our vows as we stand again before God and now with family and friends to proclaim our love. We can't wait to see you there!
