Her side: Our story began years ago in the most unexpected way—Oscar was actually my younger brother’s high school friend. While we’d crossed paths before, it wasn’t until our late 20s that something truly sparked between us. One night, on a whim, I canceled a date and decided to tag along with my brother to a friend’s birthday celebration at a club. I wasn’t even planning to go, but clearly the universe had other plans. That night, Oscar as I like to say professed his love. Okay, maybe it was more of an “I like you” confession, but still… something shifted. I remember thinking he was handsome, but young and probably not ready for anything serious. I even accidentally gave him the wrong phone number when we were at the club (I swear it wasn’t on purpose). But Oscar wasn’t about to let that be the end of the story. The next week, he showed up at my house under the pretense of playing basketball with my brother, just to ask why I’d given him the wrong number. His side: I always thought Michelle was beautiful even back in high school, but the timing was never quite right. Life has a funny way of coming full circle. I’ll never forget the night I saw my Michelle—dressed in white, glowing with a light that felt almost angelic. It’s true what they say: when you know, you just know. I remember asking Stephen that night if his sister was coming, and he called her out right in front of me, joking that I wanted her to come out with us (how embarrassing). I honestly thought that’s the only reason she joined us. Crazy to think she went from saying she’d never date her brother’s friend to marrying one! Together: From that moment on, everything started to fall into place. As we spent more time together, we realized how much we shared our values, our dreams, and most importantly, our deep love for family. Once we chose each other, everything moved quickly in the best possible way. We bought our first home, added a few kids (okay, three!), and began building the life we had both always imagined. It’s been fast, beautiful, and full of purpose and we’ve supported one another through it all. Now, as we step into this next chapter— raising our four children, traveling the world, and soaking in all of life’s beautiful moment. We do so with full hearts and deep gratitude.
