Once upon a time, in a little sushi restaurant called Sushi Masa, two paths crossed in the most unexpected of ways. By April 8, 2023, their love was proudly displayed to the world. The journey ahead wasn’t without trials. For fifteen months, they loved from a distance, learning patience, perseverance, and just how strong their love truly was. Though miles separated them, their hearts remained close. As the old saying goes, “Absence makes the heart grow fonder.” At last, Leah returned for her master’s degree, and their story resumed in the same place it first began—side by side. Then, on November 16, 2024, exactly twenty-five months after their fateful first meeting, Isaiah knelt down (albeit a little nervously), and asked Leah to be his forever. And in classic Isaiah fashion, the words came out jumbled, full of laughter and love. He wouldn’t even put the ring on until Leah gave a clear “Yes!”—which, of course, she did.
