Anyone who knows Catherine knows she's a sucker for historic homes! With soaring white columns and superbly crafted interiors, the mansion at Andalusia—called the Big House—is one of the finest examples of Greek Revival architecture in the country. Inhabited from the 1790s until the 1970s, the story of Andalusia parallels and reflects that of the nation itself. Visiting this National Historic Landmark is a journey back in time; an invitation to see the traditions, tastes, and period furnishings of the generations of Biddle family members who called it home. Don't miss Andalusia's exquisite gardens, dating back over 200 years old.

Built between 1908-1912, Fonthill Castle was the home of archaeologist, anthropologist, ceramist, scholar and antiquarian Henry Chapman Mercer. Mercer built Fonthill Castle as his home and as a showplace for his collection of tiles and prints. The castle serves as an early example of reinforced concrete and features 44 rooms, over 200 windows, and 18 fireplaces. Fonthill Castle is open for guided one-hour tours. Due to its historic nature, Fonthill Castle has limited accessibility with steep stairs and narrow, uneven passages throughout the site. Reservations are required.
