Things To Do

Below are a few of our favorite places from a previous trip to Carmel. With no set itinerary or expectations, we hope you’ll take time to enjoy the area and explore whatever feels right to you.
Tickle Pink Inn

Tickle Pink Inn

155 Highlands Drive, Carmel, CA 93923

This was our view from our room at the Tickle Pink Inn during our last stay!

Monterey Bay Aquarium

Monterey Bay Aquarium

886 Cannery Row, Monterey, CA 93940

Just 25 minutes from the Tickle Pink Inn!

Nepenthe

Nepenthe

48510 California 1, Big Sur, CA 93920

Nepenthe is a beautiful restaurant that we visited. It is located 45 minutes away from the Tickle Pink Inn. It has good food and stunning views along the Big Sur Coast. They, unfortunately, do not take reservations.

McWay Falls

McWay Falls

Big Sur, CA 93920

Beautiful views. Unfortunately, the trail that leads to the waterfall outlook might be closed when we are there.

Garrapata State Park

Garrapata State Park

34500 California 1, Carmel, CA 93923

Probably our favorite state park that we visited. Less than 10 minutes from the Tickle Pink Inn. Be sure to ask the park rangers which trail you should take, because it is a HUGE park, and the longer trail is definitely worth it for the views!

Big Sur

Big Sur

CA

There are a ton of places to stop and park the car along the Big Sur drive to take pictures!

17 Mile Drive

17 Mile Drive

17 Mile Drive, Del Monte Forest, CA

The 17-Mile Drive is a famous scenic road on California's Monterey Peninsula, winding through Pebble Beach with coastal views, mansions, and famous golf courses like Pebble Beach Golf Links. You must pay about $13 per vehicle to enter.

Carmel-by-the-Sea

Carmel-by-the-Sea

Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA 93921

Carmel-by-the-Sea is a must-see if you’re looking for a sweet little town to wander around. It’s small, walkable, and full of charming cottages, hidden courtyards, local shops, and art galleries—perfect for a relaxed stroll with no real agenda.
