Stephanie and Delano met in Negril, Jamaica while Stephanie was on vacation with her Aunt Becky and cousins Chelsea and Nikki. Delano was working at the resort as a Security Guard. Stephanie was drawn to Delano and flirted with him while he was signing her out of the resort one day. He eventually asked her for her number, with a little nudge from Chelsea, and they talked in a cabana for a few hours on her last night in Jamaica. They continued to talk via WhatsApp text and video call for months and she went back to visit him every couple of months for a year and a half. Highlights from this time included: visiting Negril, seeing where he lives and meeting his friends, having many frozen margaritas at Margaritaville and festivals at Best In the West, going to Clarendon to meet his family, and spending time in Montego Bay making new memories together. During that time, they applied for Delano's visa to come to the United States, which was finally approved in August of 2024. Stephanie met him in Montego Bay so they could travel to the US together, an experience they'll never forget.
