Once upon a time…Delanie was in 9th grade and Eddie was in 8th grade. They didn't know each other existed but the Lord was working. Delanie had Eddie’s dad for Bible class but she didn't notice the handsome man in the pictures on the wall who would be her husband 10ish years later. Delanie moved from Charlotte to Raleigh and ended up at the same church as Hannah (Gabe's wife) & Gabe (Eddie's brother). Delanie was in the same bible study as Hannah and the Lord put it on her heart to connect Eddie & Delanie. Hannah reached out to Delanie May 19th, 2024 and said "Hey girl! This is really random, but are you seeing anyone right now? I have someone I think would be so good for you." And oh boy was this statement more than right. It was divinely perfect. This was divine for many reasons but one main reason was the night before, in short, Delanie prayed to the Lord to reveal her future husband and well, when he answers, he answers! Photos and descriptions were exchanged and that day, Eddie texted Delanie. He hoped he would get a quick response so he would know how interested she was. Unfortunately, Delanie was working an event that day so he had to wait 5 hours before getting a response. Eddie described this wait felt like FOREVER and what he didn't realize was that it would be FOREVER. The next day he called Delanie and she didn't pickup so he left her a voicemail...once she heard his voice, she knew it was game over and they were both in trouble. After this, they were pretty inseparable. Their first date was 5/25/24 and their second date wasn't even a week later. On their second date, they spent all day together doing what would turn into something they love; kayaking. Many dates, beautiful sunsets, music and conversations under the stars at the Wake Forest reservoir became a special spot for them to get to know one another. It’s a place woven into their story. A place where their love story began with the stars above, the water below and the Lord in between. A place that witnessed many answered prayers—from their first kiss, Eddie asking Delanie to be his girlfriend and over a year later, to be his wife. It went from knowing of each other to deeply knowing and growing closer to one another and the Lord. The Lord has worked and moved to bring these two together and they can’t wait to see what He will continue to do in the future. They are so excited to make their marriage covenant before the Lord and in front of their friends and family exactly 2 years from their first date!
