Nick and Delaney first met during a bachelorette trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina. After struggling to find an Uber and a decent bar, Delaney's group eventually ended up at a spot with a terrible Journey cover band. Coincidentally, Nick and his friends were also there. While Delaney was at the crowded bar, trying to get a drink, one of Nick's friends bumped into the bride, and soon, both groups hit it off. Not long after, Nick and his friends were ready to leave. Since Nick was the designated driver, he told his group they were heading to the next bar. The bride overheard and asked if her group could tag along, and Nick kindly offered to drive everyone. Now, keep in mind, there were nine women in the bachelorette party! When Delaney returned with her hard-earned drink, she was surprised to learn they were headed to another location. Concerned about how everyone would fit, the bride reassured her, “Don’t worry, Nick has a van.” Sure enough, Nick pulled up in a minivan, and the entire party piled in—Delaney, in true bachelorette spirit, hopped into the trunk and hoped for the best. By the end of the night, Nick had safely delivered everyone back to their Airbnb. He made such an impression that he was invited to the wedding as Delaney’s date. He attended, and later that year, moved to Texas.
Nick proposed to Delaney while they were visiting Oahu, Hawaii. The day had been long, and Delaney was not exactly at her best. She forgot the headphones Nick asked her to bring, let him sleep through the meal service on the flight, and didn't help with the luggage collection. Despite her less-than-stellar mood, Nick was still determined to pop the question. Later, as they were rushing to get photos before dinner, Delaney made it clear she wasn’t interested in helping choose a spot. Interestingly, they were both wearing elements from the outfits they had worn the first night they met—though Delaney didn’t catch on to this clue. Finally, after a tiring day of travel and frustration, Nick asked her the big question: if she would spend the rest of her life with him. Delaney said yes, and the rest is history.
Nick and Delaney have been together since that unforgettable night in South Carolina back in August 2022. Together, they love exploring Texas while supporting the Texas Jaycees at various events—especially since Nick is the Texas Jaycees State President! Their favorite activities include getting pedicures together, binge-watching Survivor, taking their dogs to the park, belting out karaoke (or just cheering Nick on, if you’re Delaney), and trying their luck at bingo.
