We met in March 2024 on a mission trip to Cuba with Athletes in Action. The trip was from March 3rd through the 10th. We became good friends and were fortunate enough to have several long conversations to get to know each other. It was clear we enjoyed spending time together and each deeply admired the other's faith. Unbeknownst to each other, we both spent a great deal of time praying over the possibilities in front of us. After spending the flight back to the United States building up his courage, Caleb asked Delaney on a FaceTime date in the Miami Airport before saying the first of many hard goodbyes. That night, in a very out-of-character move, Delaney stayed up for hours to text Caleb while he pulled an all-nighter due to an early flight the next morning. The following day, March 11th, after FaceTiming for over 7 hours, Caleb asked Delaney to be his girlfriend. On April 6th, Delaney took her first flight to North Dakota to meet Caleb's family, and on May 1st, Caleb flew to Indiana for Delaney's graduation and met her family for the first time. After many more flights, visits, calls, road trips, and a week of camp in North Dakota, on September 22nd after church, Caleb asked Delaney to marry him!
